
Presentation rules
Presenting authors of oral/video communications and instructional courses, or the author that will defend their poster during the congress, are required to be members of SEORL or any of the scientific associations in agreement with SEORL and be registered as participants to the Congress
GENERAL GUIDELINES
For Instructional Courses, Oral and Video Communications (except for posters which have their own rules)
The audiovisual department for delivery of presentations accepted and notified to be presented during the 73 National Congress will be open at 07:00 AM in the Palacio de Congresos the days 13th, 14th and 15th of October.
The formats accepted for delivery of presentations to the audiovisual department are the following:
- Any version of PowerPoint (PPT or PPTX). If the PPT/PPTX has associated videos, these must be delivered to the audiovisual department in the same folder.
- Windows Media Video
- Windows Media Audio or MP3.
- PDF.
MAC computers, APPLE tablets:
- Users must hand in the HDMI adaptor.
Laptops:
- Only those computers having an HDMI output can be connected to the projection equipment located in the rooms.
- Computers with a single VGA output cannot be connected. The presenter must go to the audiovisual room for a technician to download the presentation to the remote equipment. The technicians in each room will open the presentation remotely and the presenter will be able to manage his/her presentation easily using a remote control.
- There is not WiFi connection at the Palacio de Congresos, if you need Internet connection, you must manage it by you own means.
NOTE
Presentations are managed from the audiovisual room, and it is necessary that presenters go to such room to avoid confusions.
In this way the coordinator can keep record of which presentations are launched via the server and which are not. This is important to keep the room technicians posted.
SPECIFIC RULES FOR EACH TYPE OF VIRTUAL WORK
Instructional Courses
- Instruction courses will last 50 minutes.
- All directors wishing to participate in a course in the room where it is being presented must be registered to the congress, and the director/s that present must be members of SEORL of any of the scientific associations in agreement with SEORL.
- The first slide of the exhibition/presentation of any work shall include the declaration of potential conflict of interest.
- The author who sent the abstract will be notified by email of the decision of the scientific committee and the relevant instructions.
Oral/video communications
- Oral and video communications will last 8 minutes plus a 2-minute discussion and will be grouped in blocks and thematic areas.
- Oral communications can also be supported by audiovisual media.
- All authors wishing to participate in the presentation of the communication in the room must be registered to the congress, and the director/s that present must be members of SEORL of any of the scientific associations in agreement with SEORL.
- The first slide of the exhibition/presentation of any work shall include the declaration of potential conflict of interest.
- The author who sent the abstract will be notified by email of the decision of the scientific committee and the relevant instructions.
Posters
- All posters must be sent in their final version (digital format) before the start of the congress, following the deadline set and the format guidelines.
- At least one author of the poster must be registered in the congress.
- The author who sent the abstract will be notified by email of the decision of the scientific committee and the relevant instructions.
Special session: research forum
- A maximum of 6 selected works of basic or clinical research will be presented.
- The presentation time of each work will be 10 minutes maximum.
- A special prize and an honorary diploma will be rewarded to the best work, taking into account their originality, development of the topic, quality, practical application of the results and relevance of conclusions.
- All authors wishing to participate in the presentation of the communication in the room must be registered to the congress, and the author/s that present must be members of SEORL of any of the scientific associations in agreement with SEORL.
- The first slide of the exhibition/presentation of any work shall include the declaration of potential conflict of interest.
- The author who sent the abstract will be notified by email of the decision of the scientific committee and the relevant instructions.
Special session: best oral communication
- Of all the oral communications accepted and that opt to this award, the court selected by the Organizing Committee will select the best 10 to be presented in special sessions.
- The communications will last 8 minutes plus a 2-minute discussion.
- An special prize and an honorary diploma will be rewarded to the best communication, taking into account their originality, development of the topic, quality and practical application of the results.
- The first slide of the exhibition/presentation of any work shall include the declaration of potential conflict of interest.
- The author who sent the abstract will be notified by email of the decision of the scientific committee and the relevant instructions.
Special session: best video communication
- All video communications that were accepted and opted to this award must be sent in their final version before the start of the congress, following the deadline and the format guidelines.
- Of all communications that opted to this award, the 5 with more votes will be selected to be presented in this session. Each communication will last 8 minutes with a 2-minutes discussion.
- A special prize and an honorary diploma will be rewarded to the best communication, taking into account their originality, quality and practical application of the results.
- The first slide of the exhibition/presentation of any work shall include the declaration of potential conflict of interest.
- The author who sent the abstract will be notified by email of the decision of the scientific committee and the relevant instructions.
Special sessions: best poster
- Of all the sent and accepted posters that opted to this award, the 30 with more votes will be selected, and each one will have a presentation with a 2 minute exhibition and 3 minute defence.
- A special prize and an honorary diploma will be rewarded to the best communication, taking into account their originality, desing, quality and practical application of the results.
- The author that will defend the poster must be registered to the congress and be a member of SEORL of any of the scientific associations in agreement with SEORL.
- The authors will be notified of the selection of their poster in this session some days before the start of the congress.
- The author who sent the abstract will be notified by email of the decision of the scientific committee and the relevant instructions.
