Abstracts review criteria

Astracts will be anonymously scored by a group of evaluators, with those who have a conflict of interest abstaining (in which case, he or she will be replaced by another evaluator). In the event of problems with the evaluation, ties or incidents, a member of the Delegate Committee will resolve the issue.

The scientific committee will reserve the right to propose the change of format from an oral or video presentation to a poster if they believe this is most appropriate This proposal will be communicated to the authors for their acceptance.

Instructional Courses

The projects will be scored according to the following evaluation criteria:

  • Originality (0-2 points): Original topic, greatly relevant in clinical practice or important educational objective.
  • Development (0-3 points): Description of methods employed during the course. Planning and development of the topic presented and explanation of the course objectives.
  • Practical application of the results (0-3 points): Assessing the possible practical effects of the course.

The total score of the course will be a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 8 points.

Oral communications

The projects will be scored according to the following evaluation criteria:

  • Originality (0-2 points): Original or highly relevant topic, especially if offering a new approach to the topic presented.
  • Development of the topic (0-3 points): Clear description of the abstract. Correct explanation of the problem and of the objectives and conclusions of the abstract.
  • Quality (0-2 points) Methodology of the abstract, statistical method, complexity. Assessment of number of cases relative to the frequency of the pathology or technique, etc.
  • Practical application of the results (0-3 points): Assess possible effects of the results of the study on clinical practice.

The total score of the course will be a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 10 points.

Video Communications

The projects will be scored according to the following evaluation criteria:

  • Originality (0-2 points): Original topic, new screening techniques or surgery, infrequent clinical case.
  • Development (0-5 points): Correct explanation of topic presented and of the objective of paper presented.
  • Practical application of the results (0-3 points): Assess possible effects of the results of the study on clinical practice.

The total score of the course will be a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 10 points.

Posters

The projects will be scored according to the following evaluation criteria:

  • Originality (0-2 points): Original topic, new screening techniques or surgery, infrequent clinical case.
